A GREAT LIFE ON PASEO FINISTERRA

In 1980 my husband Luis and I arrived in Los Cabos, looking to settle down -at last- after many years of traveling all over México as workers in the hotel industry. We chose San José del Cabo over Cabo San Lucas, found a great piece of land facing what was programmed to become a golf course (and, sure enough, there it is), with a great view of the Sea of Cortés, and… we were lucky enough to afford it! A couple of years later we began working with a group of architects on the design of our dream house, ended up building it and, eight years later, moved in. Best decision of our lives!

We’ve been here since 1988, the first house within the development, and have watched it grow gracefully around us. Nice homes were built, and the 9-hole golf course (1st course to appear in the Los Cabos area!) stands before us, the lovely estuary, where around 200 species of birds spend their winters and, thank God, the Sea of Cortés.

The wonderful part about being on Finisterra is that it continues to be a quiet street, yet one has, only a few minutes’ walk away, all of San José’s main attractions: endless beaches, the estuary, the charming, colonial town of San José, great restaurants and hotels, interesting shops and art galleries. We have got it all!

As for our neighbors, there are many Canadians and Americans on our street (some snowbirds, others living here year-round); lovely, quiet people.
